Privacy Policy
Playlist Pilot for YouTube ("the app") is a personal, self-hosted tool. It runs only on its owner's own computer and is used only by that owner. This policy explains what Google user data the app accesses and how it is handled.
Data the app accesses
With your permission, the app uses the YouTube Data API (the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube
scope) to access:
- the list of your YouTube playlists, including Favorites;
- the items in those playlists;
- public metadata about those videos and their channels (titles, descriptions, tags, durations, statistics).
How the data is used
- To show you your playlists and the videos in them, and to suggest where saved videos belong.
- To add videos to, or remove videos from, your playlists, only for moves you have explicitly approved in the app.
The app does not use the data for advertising, profiling or training machine-learning models, and does not make any decision about you.
Storage and sharing
- Data is stored only in a local database file on the computer where you run the app. There is no server operated for the app, and the developer cannot see your data.
- The data is not sold, rented, or shared with anyone, and is not transferred to third parties.
- Your Google sign-in token is stored locally on the same computer and used only to call the YouTube Data API.
Retention and deletion
Data stays on your computer until you delete it. Deleting the app's local database and token files removes it completely.
Revoking access
You can revoke the app's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Google API Services User Data Policy
The app's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The app also complies with the YouTube Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy applies to data handled by Google.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
